Our Curriculum
At TippyToes, our curriculum is designed to nurture and inspire children from 3 months to 5 years old, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we have created an ambitious, child-centred and engaging curriculum that promotes holistic development.
🎨 Play-Based Learning
At the heart of our curriculum is play — the natural way children learn. Through structured and unstructured play, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and build on their existing knowledge.
👤 Personalised Learning
We understand that children develop at their own pace. Our curriculum is flexible, allowing us to tailor learning experiences based on each child’s interests, needs, and developmental stage.
🌿 Outdoor Exploration
We provide a wealth of outdoor learning opportunities, where children can explore nature, engage in physical activities, and learn to care for the environment.
🤝 Partnership with Parents
We value working in close partnership with parents and families, ensuring you are involved in your child’s learning journey through the Famly app, progress evenings, and daily communication.
Our Rooms
🐛 Crawling Caterpillars — 3 to 14 Months
Our Crawling Caterpillars room offers a warm, home-from-home environment for up to 6 babies where every baby is nurtured with care, comfort, and attention. We focus on building strong, loving relationships so that each child feels safe, secure, and valued.
Our caring practitioners create a calm, language-rich space where babies can thrive — surrounded by songs, stories, and gentle conversation that support early communication and curiosity. With a dedicated sleep and relaxation room, Crawling Caterpillars provides the perfect start for little ones.
🐑 Little Lambs — 14 Months to 2 Years
Our Little Lambs room provides care for up to 12 babies across two spacious rooms, one overlooking our beautiful gardens. One room features a craft and messy play area where children explore different textures. The second room provides a dynamic play space with stimulating activities supporting exploration, imagination, and cognitive growth, plus a cosy reading area.
🐵 Cheeky Monkeys — 2 to 3 Years
Our Cheeky Monkeys room offers a spacious, light-filled environment for up to 18 children with its lovely view of the garden. The room is thoughtfully arranged into distinct areas: a sociable mealtime area, messy play zone, quiet corner for relaxation, small world and loose parts area, and a home corner for imaginative play.
Children are gently supported to begin recognising colours, numbers, and letters through fun, play-based activities. When ready, we work closely with parents to gently introduce potty and toilet training.
🦁 Roaring Lions — 3 to 5 Years
Our Roaring Lions room is where preschool children take their final steps, developing confidence and skills needed for a smooth transition to school. We provide care for up to 26 children across two purposefully designed rooms and our free-flow garden.
Activities are carefully planned to support social, emotional, and school readiness, with plenty of time for free play, exploration, and discovery. Children are offered a more structured daily routine, gently introducing them to the school environment.
Our Beautiful Gardens
Our outdoor spaces are truly something special — a place where children can run, explore and fall in love with the great outdoors. Thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, confidence and joyful play.

Food & Nutrition
All meals are freshly prepared on-site each day by our experienced nursery cook, using wholesome ingredients. We follow a seasonal 4-week rotating menu offering healthy, nutritious and balanced meals.
We carefully cater for all dietary requirements including allergies, intolerances, weaning stages, religious/cultural requirements, and vegetarian or vegan preferences.
We see mealtimes as positive, social and learning experiences, gently encouraging children to develop independence, practise good table manners, and make healthy choices.
SEND Support
At TippyToes, we celebrate individuality and believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, grow and feel valued. We are proud to be an inclusive setting that welcomes diversity.
We have dedicated SENDCos who are experienced in identifying and supporting children and families who may benefit from Early Help or additional support. When a child is identified as needing additional support, we work sensitively with parents, liaise with external professionals, and create a tailored plan.
Settling In
Starting nursery is a big step, and we’re here to make that transition calm, positive and reassuring for both children and their families. We offer a gentle and supportive settling-in process:
- You are invited to stay and explore the room with your child
- When your child feels comfortable, you can step out while staying close by
- Sessions help us learn about your child’s likes, dislikes, comforts and routines
We understand that every child settles differently, and we will work alongside you every step of the way.
